Hikes for 2013
Come enjoy the great outdoors with Renee and Tyler! Meet at Epidavros to carpool . Wear comfortable walking clothes, shoes with good support and traction, as well as multiple layers and extra food if you eat as often as we do! Pre/post-hike stretches and additional fitness tips are also included if you're wanting an extra workout. ________________________________________________________ Angel's Rest - June 22 4.8 miles round trip This hike is relatively steep as it climbs through wooded areas and eventually out in the open near the summit of Angel's Rest where there are great vistas of the Columbia River Gorge and the surrounding mountains. Burnt Lake - August 10 6 miles round trip This hike begins as a gentle walk through a dense & beautiful rain-forest environment before making a giant switchback and gaining elevation. Don't worry, the lake & view is totally worth it! Read more... McNeil Point - September 28 9.8 miles round trip In season, this trail is a floral paradise. Hike through forests, meadows, wild flowers, ponds, and even a little snow! Explore the old shelter at the top of McNeil ridge and if you're still feeling ambitious afterwards, finish the 800+ ft climb to McNeil Point for a jaw-dropping view. This is one of the most beautiful hikes in all of the Mt Hood Wilderness/Portland area. Read more... |
